Hello,

I would like to change the default ftp (21) and http (80) ports to 2121 and 8080?

The reason is that my isp is blocking ports below 1024 and i would like to access my dreambox remotely.

How can do that?

Thanks

Ermm no..... if your ISP was blocking ports below 1024 you would never have made your first post.

How do you connect to the internet, is it through a router?
If so then you need to allow remote access of your router and set port forwarding to the IP of your dreambox, It may help if you allow remote management if you are constantly outside your local network.

Thanks for the reply. What I mean is they block inbound port like ftp, http... so you cannot host ftp, web servers and so on... So basically, i would like to change these ports to be higher than 1024 so I can access my dm remotely.

Thanks

I'm sorry I still do not fully understand as you still have not said what method you use to connect to the internet.

Therefore AFAIK what I previously described should work fine. Your ISP is not allowed to do as you suggest, it is you who has to configure your router accordingly. Once set up you connect to you router from the web by creating a dial up network connection and then telnet or login to your Dreambox. I do this everyday to 6 servers albeit they are only Kubuntu and Red Hat Linux servers and not DB's.
