I think it's difficult, as even the USB-Serial converters don't work very well.

No chance of using another computer?

Hi iwol,
if it's for use with the Infinity/Phoenix USB programmer, the only solution I've heard of, that works, is a PCMCIA to Serial adapter, I can't remember where they were sold but if you do a search on google you might find one.
Best wishes

Hi iwol,
from reading other posts, a USB too serial adapter should work with the Cas 2 + add on, but this option doesn't seem to work with the Infinity/Phoenix programmer.
Best wishes

Was looking myself the other day, you can get a usb to serial and get the software with it. Goog*e has loads listed. Some a bit expensive.

I would suggest looking for a second hand docking station for the laptop you have. In many cases , they will be cheaper than a USB to Serial port cable, and give more guarantee of working with a programmer

I also use usb-serial "pl2303 1-2:1.0: PL-2303 converter" on my laptop.

The trick is that windows automaticly assigns the com port com5 or higher. But this could be changed in device manager, select ports, select usb-serial convertor, properities and change the com port to com1.

All works for me (i have phoenix programmer) withouth problems.
