How to load the windows sdr driver.

step 1

download zdiag.exe http://zadig.akeo.ie/downloads/zadig_2.2.exe

step 2

run zdiag win 10 ask if you want to allow the app to make changes, click yes.

step 3

go to options, and choose, list all devices, my example is RTL2832U, and click install driver, it should show a pop saying driver installed.

step 4

cloase zdiag, and reboot your pc.



your dongle is now installed.

Just loaded the driver as above on the Win 10 Pro ACER, but one small correction to the instructions is possibly needed.

As you know, I bought the same SDR as yourself, but when I clicked List all Devices it does not show an RTL2832U option.

However, there is an RTLU2838UHIDIR device listed, and when I selected that then it, first time, loaded a Driver with RTL2832 in the name - but when I did the same again as a check, it did not show a Driver with that in the name but actually loaded the Driver "WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385)", and that does seem to be the one that is now still loaded

So where does that leave me?

Both are correct, it just depends on the dongle chipset you have.

The RTL2832 is the dvb-t dongle
And the RTL2838 is the dvb-t2 dongle.

At the time of writing the how to, I was using my dvb-t (rtl2832)

RTLU2838UHIDIR Is the noo elec tcxo dongle.

Reboot the PC, with out the dongle plugged in, once booted back up, plug the dongle back in, and try again.

This time selecting RTLU2838UHIDIR, and install.
