How to make a RS 232 cable for pc to coship?

AVAILBLE FOR DISH TV.

AHMEDABAD GUJRAT INDIA
Helo Freinds ,

I am from India . i wanna know how to install software using a rs 232 cable in a coship or any other receiver? i brought a new 9 pin modem cable but nothing worked.

can any one help me with the diagram of the same .

please note that i want to install/upgrade software from a receiver or pc...
what is the possible way ....

anybody from india or around world can help me?

i got all software from coship website, already.

did you get an RS 232 cable where the pins are in parallel, if so it is wrong.
It should be a NULL modem cable where the send & receive pins are reversed
 
Your cable should be connected like this:

2-3
3-2
5-5

And everything will work 100%...

Hey thank you very much mmmm

i am able to get the point....

now i need somehelp to install software ,,,,

i lost a password for my winner sat digibox.....it is not the 0000 or the 1111 or like that.....
somebody changed it...how can i get or retrive it..
