How to operate Satlink WS-7009 SE

Hi, I bought Satlink WS-7009 SE for the purpose to try to learn and find satellites as hobby.
After while I realized that it's not as easy as I thought to work with that satellite finder.
I have read the manual but it was only helpful to certain extent.
I found some of the satellites after an hour of trying but I think I found them by a pure luck.
I managed to select what satellite I want to find, transponders but the rest it seems quite complicated for me.
I tried to use YouTube videos how to operate the device but even there I can't find any quite good stop by step video.
In case you think first, I should learn about satellites, I know how TV satellites operate, how and where they are located, their positions, dish sizes and elevations, polarization, LNB types and skews, transponders, types of satellites...
So if you have any links, threads here or videos how to find satellites such Astra 3B, Astra 2E with this type of finder please, let me know, I will be very thankful for any relevant information. Thanks.

First thing to do is check you have the correct parameters for the transponders you are looking for. If you are just selecting a satellite and not an individual transponder the meter is likely looking for the first transponder in its list for that particular satellite. See lyngsat.com and flysat.com for up to date transponder details.

Hi, yes I use lyngsat.com to get frequencies and SR FEC parameters. It's great website.
My main concern is whether I use the finder correctly and whether there is any faster way to find any satellite.
My way I seach a satellite is that from menu I select DVB-S2 (picture Menu), the screen then changes to Satellite Find (picture 1.) and I'm asked to choose a satellite I want to find, Local frequency i.e. 9750/10600, Frequency, Symbol Rate, Polarity V or H (can be find on lyngsat.com) , Tone - Auto, DiSEqC Mode - DiseqC 1.0/1.1, DiSEqC 1.0 - None, DiSEqC 1.1 - None. Then I press OK button and it the screen displays all selected settings (Picture 2) plus PWR, CN, BER and MER. Then I start pointing a dish to the direction of the satellite until I see BER bar is fully blue and it displays 100% and I hear beeping tone. This is the moment where I usually spend most of my time adjusting the dish (changing azimut or elevation) to find the desired satellite and sometimes my phone with Dish Pointer app do the better job than this Satlink.
The finder has few extra functions such as Spectrum (picture Spectrum), Loop search, Constellation, Auto scan, Transponder search and I'm just wondering whether these functions can be used to make it easier to find a satellite.

If the spectrum function works properly it should show the presence of a signal before the CN/BER/MER meters spring to life - Satlink meters tend to require the signal to be locked before showing anything other than PWR.

Hi, yes it is true that a signal requires to be locked but I think the first of all the signal has to be find (the dish properly pointed to the satellite) and then locked.
