How to record tv programs to computer

I have an sky plus box
My Location
Northern Ireland
Hi everybody,
Can someone explain to me how I can record tv programs to computer and what leads do I need?
If possible where I can get leads and software to do this?

Where would the programmes be coming from to record?
 
Just normal tv programs I like to transfer to computer then to ipod to keep.
