How To Set Up DIY OTT IPTV for Sky Channels?

Hi, why not just use a receiver with linux and openwebif, then setup a vpn to your router at home. You should be able to select channels and stream them directly tp you pc.
 
Thanks for your suggestions. Yeah, I'll be able to find son Ebay, maybe on Gumtree as well.

I don't want to use a PC , cos I want to set it up to watch on telly. With Slingbox, I can connect my tab to TV HDMI port and let it play. I can leave it on 24x7 and it'd be just switching telly on and off whenever I want to watch something.

Just my thought though...now everything moving into internet based system. I think Sky by 2020 will stop it's satellite based system and make everything online, like BBC 3 is now only available online? Something like Slingbox by then will turn up I guess.
