I have a zip-tie holding the clamp together on my salvaged 80cm dish, works a treat, and I'm sure analoguesat bodged up a clamp using a load of zip-ties...
If anyone has a Channel Master Polar mount, could they let me know what the numbers relate to on the back adjustment bolt, and where the reading is meant to take place. i.e. under the mount, at the top of the nut or above the washer under the bolt.
Not being able to see any west satellites makes it very hard to set the thing up and also not having an inclinometer is driving me round the bend.
I took the reading from the top of the nut. What instrument are you using the put it on the arc? As these polar mounts are tricky to set up because of the weight off the dish!
a semi bust Digisat Pro (doesn't allow picture through but finds the sats), but i've no docs as to the number the elevation should be. unless it's just that lat or long?
The mount was painted with hammerite and so was the scale on the threaded bar. Easiest way to set that up is to mount in the 'middle' and swivel the mount until you find 1 west and adjust the elavation accordinly.
