I have just had a look on google and it seems there is no way from a menu or anything, you have to take the lid off to see what the drive says. There does not appear to be another way. Also do not assume that whatever size that is shown is the size it has been formatted for as apparently the original software would not allow the use of the full space if over a certain size.

Take receiver apart and see as said above by Topper but if it helps I think they have a usable disk space of 80GB / 40hrs from new ...but can't be certain.

the pvr 2 has an 80gb hard drive , and the pvr 3 has a 160gb hard drive.

the hard drives are maily Maxtor,s, and can be replaced with the same hard drive
