My Humax HDR-1010S has Died!
It will not fully boot and just keeps looping back to 'starting'.
The hard drive keeps cycling and grinding away.
Took the cover off, nothing obvious on the circuit boards.
Is it likely to be hard drive failure or other fault?
I had it replaced some years ago by John Lewis luckily 23 months into its 2 year warrantee.
Seem to remember it was a similar fault then?

I see its a Seagate ST1000VM002 1TB drive which can be bought.
If hard drive, what is procedure for replacing?

I replaced my hard drive myself with a 2TB one over 6 months ago, might be longer though.
Was a simple matter of buying a new one, removing old one from the box, replacing with the 2TB and started it up.
Box formatted the drive itself and started no problem at all once it had done installing what needed to be done.
Have had no problems at all since doing this.

@mick2me

That's a consumer-grade drive optimized for DVR applications (and thus not for PC, Server, etc., use) - so make sure you get something similar that is intended for the same sort of use.
