Hurricane Irma (and Jose etc)

An interesting forecast for the UK on 16th October. Ophelia coming in, and temperature for the SE expected to be 23C, although I've seen it might go higher (record 29C for 1st October in Cambridgeshire - we're two weeks into the month now).

It's so topsy-turvey that my Runner Beans continue to flower and fruit.

Normally they are done and dusted by the end of September up in our no longer frozen wasteland.

And the best part is, 16th October is 30 years to the day that Michael Fish said the day before there was nothing to worry about... :)

Two more on the way, Maria has overtaken Lee in terms of potential damage, and where it is in relation to the Leewards, Guadeloupe is in the cross hairs this time.

The estimates of casualties from Maria are finally revised.

Puerto Rico ups Maria death toll to 2,975

The original statistics

In Puerto Rico, the death toll is highly uncertain and the official number stands at 65, which includes an unknown number of indirect deaths. It should be noted that hundreds of additional indirect deaths in Puerto Rico may eventually be attributed to Maria’s aftermath pending the results of an official government review.
