There's loads of those little jumping spiders round this way, I tend to see them in toilets/bathrooms most often

I nearly fainted when I first saw one years ago and it jumped at me lolol

They're normally black and white round here but I have seen a brown/ginger and black one once

Could be a wolf spider (lycosa pullata) it doesn't build webs hunts it's prey

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...
My Location
Near Pontop Pike, Co. Durham
They're harmless little things, about all they'll do is run away from you in reverse, as they like to keep an eye on what you're doing, they're pretty neat little spiders, they always fascinate me, watching them leap about and react so quickly to movement near to them... :D

Unlike their larger distant cousins that is who have a legspan of about 3 inches, those ones will go splat if I see them near me... o_O

Thanks

It does look very scorpion-ish close up and it reacts to the slightest movement, confirming an excellent eyesight.

He/she can stay in the van as far as I'm concerned, I just hope there's enough food in there.

Was out having a smoke last night (naughty) heard a flop on the ground, dashed in and got the camera and took pic on macro without flash. I identified it as a natterer's bat or could possibly be a noctule bat.

I rather like spiders ...useful things to have around ..
keep six legged beasties to a minimum ...great gardening assistants.
I've never killed one ..and carry them outside if I find one in the bath etc..
There are some insects that creep me out but I rarely kill one unless it be a wasp ..or a bluebottle in the house.
The ones that make me cringe a little are roaches and earwigs.
Funny though ..I;ve not seen an earwig since I was young..
either my eyesight is not up to it anymore ..or the numbers have seriously declined.

That's a good point, I haven't seen any for years either and I used to see loads as a kid. I used assumed where I used to live had more than where I am now...
