Hi,
Dunno if this is a card problem or a Box problem or a problem that requires a call to Sky (my least preferred option :)). Quite simply I see an information box with the title 'for your information 08' and message 'This programme is not available'. I see this now on Sky sports channels + Sky Movies channels and these all previosuly worked fine :(. I've not had good experiences with Sky support so would contact them as a last option - all suggestions gratefully received!
Thx!

It might help if you told us which Make/Model of Skybox it is.

That said, have you tried rebooting it?

Also, are you in the habit of unplugging it from the Mains at night?

Hello

Welcome to the forum marvinge
I often used to get that message from my Sony stb also there would be no information available on i button and I just switch off at the mains socket, force a download by holding down the backup button then applying power until I get the upgrading message then it is OK for many weeks. As yours is a sky + stb perhaps it is a different cause as presumably you have two inputs, but may be worth a try.

Yes, that was my thought too.

We shall see ................ !!

Hi All many thanks for your suggestions. I have since also lost Anytime TV so getting worried!. Let me try to answer your questions:
SYstem Details
PACE model 6.3.16
Version 9F2202
OS version 1.311b10
EPG ver. 5.07u
I have tried rebooting and dont unplug at night.
I havent tried to Force a Download cos I'm afraid to lose some cool stuff i have on the planner?
Is that the next thing to try? Any other ideas whats happening here... I seem to be down to FTV channels only
Thx

Just noticed you are "non UK".

Could you help us out with your location and details of your dish/LNB?

Spain by the looks of it. Have you tried setting the default transponder to the one one the southern beam? No idea if it will work but its worth a try :D

If your in a place where the north beam or 2d channels are weak or can not be received follow the following procedure.

If you don't the receiver will be looking for a transponder which it may not be able to receive 'O'-red

Skys default transponder’s frequency is 11.778 V.
You must program the transponder on 12.207V into the receiver so the channel line up can be received.

To do this press the Services button on the remote and choose System Setup. Now you have to get the Secret Menu by pressing the zero 0 key followed by one key 1 and then press SELECT key on the remote. You should now see the INSTALLER SETUP Menu.

Press 2 for Default Transponder and change from 11.778 to 12.207 and then save the new settings. This will make the receiver look at the information on the transponder at 12.207 Vertical.

This transponder can easily be received on the Southern Beam.

As long as the receiver is left switched on it shouldn't revert to the pre-installed transponder. If it does just follow the procedure again.

Hi Again!
Well since my last post I've tried the upgrade (force a download by holding down the backup button) and that hasnt solved my problem.
I'm also not enough of an expert to tell you much about the dish (I think its a standard 60cm size with quad LNB all supplied by the installer)...
With regards to my location it cant be spain as Sky's not covered there right :)? Impressive guess by the way...
finally Nanochicken: your suggestion sounds like an important change to the basic setup I currently have... I mean is this something that normally needs to be done it previously worked? It sounds more like something to be done during initial setup.... Can i undo it if it doesnt improve anything...?
Finally I must say that I'm beginning to fear the worst and dont know if I'll ever be able to get my channels back :(. Is this a common problem that can be caused by, for example, wind moving the dish or is this something that may require a drastic solution like new card/box...??
Thanks again for the expert advice!

If you switch off the receiver it will revert to the standard 11.778 V transponder automatically.

As for the guess of location, being a moderator, i can see your IP address :D

A 60cm dish in your location will be nowhere big enough to receive anything off Astra 2D although it should be OK for anything off the south beam and probably quite marginal for anything off the north beam.

In all honesty if your using a 60cm dish thats your problem. You need at least a 1m dish for your location, although a 1.2m would be better. Theres probably nothing wrong with your box, its just a case of it can't show the channels if it can't see them :(

Have a look at the following URLs. They should give you a rough idea of what dish size is needed.

And also, some of the Blue SKy cards, especially the freesatfromsky cards, look to have been deactived recently, as they are showing the "Programme Not Available" message for the FTV (Fiver, Five USA Sky3 etc) channels they used to unlock....
So maybe the OP can tell us what color thir sky card is.....as if it is Blue then you will need ot get a new white replacement card form Sky

Hi again,

Have been travelling so cant confirm the colour of the card but I would suspect strongly that its old blue color as i have it for more than 4 years?? The funny thing is i still see some channels (e.g. BBC but not C4)..
So it looks like i will need to contact Sky in the end as there is no other way around this :( ??
MG
PS - i dont think its related to the dish as i could see these channels up until recently!
