If your not bothered about the risk of getting a clone look on ebay :-doh!

Your more likely to find a clone on there than you will a real one :D

these rebranded versions although work, remove the cover and it doesnt look all that, cheap components and short life look the order, dont worry about the security sticker it might as not be there,it can lifted and restuck many times
the clones seem to vary in quality again life expectancy doesnt look good and visually its surprising that it would drive any motor let alone with a dish.
buy cheap buy twice.

I'm getting shut of my Dreambox 600PVR. It has a 20gb HDD in it (10hrs approx) and Sat tuner. I cannot guarantee if its genuine or not as i didn't buy it from an approved retailer :-doh!

I've currently got the Pace HD box, and although good for FTA stuff and ok with multisat in general, the software is a bit buggy and hopeless when it comes to Cams so looking into Dreamboxes.

I've a good working knowledge of pc's and basic linux so will have to play catch up, but have the "idiots" guide for me.

Does your DM600 have the latest Gemini image and anything else to get me up and running ???

Drop me a PM if need be as I think they are up and running now.

Cheers, Tony

Like i said i can't guarantee its genuine so i wouldn't touch Gemini with a barge pole :-rofl2

Its currently running Pli Jade with CCcam 2.0.9, MGCamd 1.30 and gbox 2.25. CCcam reads a S ky card without any problems :toke:

I can put any image you want on it as long as its not Gemini. Its not worth the risk in all honesty as i have seen a friends 100% pukka 500s box wiped out by the last Gemini Image. 'O'-red

This box was purchased from a Dream Multimedia approved seller so we know it was genuine :-rofl2

....
I didn't think there were any/many DM-600 clones out there.

I was suspicious of my own, so I sent the people at dream-multimedia-tv.de a few pictures of the innards, they confirmed within a few days that it was a genuine box.

The basta*ds 'O'-red

I don't have a problem with people marketing a box which is obviously not a Dreambox, at least that way you know what your getting.

What really pi**es me off is when they try and pass off their cheap chinese shi*t off as a real Dream multimedia box. The buyer then installs Gemini 4.40 on it and hey presto one knackered box

It probably won't be long before the other teams have to start using the new drivers from DMM so its only a matter of time before these boxes will become unusable with the new images

I can't be sure if mine is genuine which is one of the reasons i want shut of it, although the main reason is that i want a 7025 :-worship

At least they acknowladge that they are from China,
Dreambox 500C, Dreambox 500S, Dreambox 500T and the new Dreambox 7020, Dreambox 600S from China,
That should be enough ot put any wary buyer off along with the fact that they are so cheap.

Whats worse is when people try to sell them off as the genuine article at full price, At least the DM-500S on that site are dirt cheap at £40,

At least you know what your buying from this vendor. Not trying to say its the genuine article, it even says not to install Gemini and advertises the barebones as a replacement for Gemini bricked clones.

True you do but i got caught on ebay by two units bought together, one was very good the warranty sticker left the word void if lifted the board was ok also, made £25 on both when i sold it.
the second not so,someone dropped a hot implement melting the ribbon, also damaging several board capacitors also looked as if it was done at manufacturer, the box worked, although i got the capacitors out find the right size was impossible and decided to dispose of it in the bin, again the board was ok but the tuner top had rust and should be kept slightly oiled:-rofl2,to be fare have seen this on paces too.the warrent sticker was multiply removable, there appears to be several types of cone some better then others.
no one can defend the blatant use of a brand name like this, let alone the hologram seen in the past, while these boxes do work dream shouldn't state they will blow up they wont and common faults apply to both types motor psu exe.

As you say there are a few different clones about. I bought one on Ebay too, i drove to Dublin from Belfast to see it too. It looked legit to my untrained eye but it had what i thought was all the right stuff. Proper remote, holograms etc. It worked a treat too and still does. Mine drives my dish no problems at all, which i know clones and genuine boxes seem to have trouble doing.

this where there can be problems like on ebay, high prices paid for clones that are hard to tell apart, and cheaper to buy new.impossible to tell on a screen also.the dream site shows high buttons on the remote there wasnt any of that and the only difference was the etching on the ethernet port wasnt there.
a box such as the eagle is just a clone box like any other, clones must out number originals multiple times and are all over the net available in bulk also, the cable version drives most clone unit sales here.
dream have their loyal customers but they are way over priced and the only safe place to buy from is satstore.these are Chinese too.
