I Need basic information about my firmware

Hi!

Being a newbie, I hate to ask the obvious, but where do I find what version firmware is in my Passion+ STB. I've search the forums/net and can't find anything and browsing through the STB menus do seem to show me the version. I suspect I'm going to be embarassed as no-one else seems to have a problem.

The box is new and I didn't want go to deep into the update menu in case I press the wrong option.

Hi DaveJJ, welcome to the forum.

Menu - right click to 3rd icon for System Settings.

Click on Other Settings and scroll to System Info.

New I'd be red-faced. Never looked there 'cos it said "Settings", nothing to set so no interest!

Anyway, it's loader v1.5.0 and s/w v1.1.8. Don't know if it's worth upgrading but I'll have a look at what the latest versions improve and decide later.

BTW, do I need to use all the intervening updates or just the latest (I assume it's everything rolled up)

Just the latest should be fine I would guess (I only have the basic Passion HD, but have always updated new firmware as it appears on the Fortec site).

I'm impressed with the forum's speed of response.

I'll get the latest and update my STB (Keeping fingers crossed against FU's). So far the box peformance and recording to HDD is good (and easy), particularly taken against the price tag.
