i need help how to set the receiver with lap top

dear brothers can anyone help me how i can upgrade my receiver starsat 6300 super, how i can connect receiver with laptop because there is no connection of serial port i have purchase a cable usb to serial but my receiver is not detecting this is my first time i am upgrading the software please help me step by step
