I thought I knew the answer!

Having been a follower of Douglas Adams, I thought I new the answer, and the question.
Everybody knows the answer is 42, but what was the ultimate question?
Of course, we all know the " ultimate question " was " what is 6 x 9 ", at least that is what I believed based on all universal knowledge, until now!

Having spent some time around small humans, frequently referred to as children, I have observed that the " ultimate question " is " why ? "

I have found out, that despite my best attempts to give a resolute answer, the same question is the response.

WHY?

Anyone got the answer?

When I was a child (yes, yes many years ago) the answer to 'why' was always 'because'...
 
Because why is a crooked letter and can't be straightened.
 
To totally understand the "ultimate Question" you will need a ship powered by the now famous "Bistro Drive", (supersedes the Improbability Drive by 88888.8881 to the one hundredth power parsec's per second per second multiplied by 42) without it you can't get what you want.
 
I thought the " Bistro Drive " started in the early 80´s and had been surpassed Sushi design?
