Identifying new-style DM500S Remote?

I am off to buy a DM500S (yippee!), and want to make sure it is the latest revision with the ALPS tuner and bigger remote. Is there an easy way to tell whether I am getting the new-style remote, eg layout, part number, etc?

ask the dealer thats what i did. i wouldnt buy from flebay after reading horror storys about bad dm500s on a few forums .try satellitesuperstore they have the new ones in but you might have to wate a week or two like i did

Turned out to be the old one - you could see "Philips" embossed on the top of the tuner through the case, the remote is really dinky, and there is no screw in the space between the lnb in and lnb out.

Tried satellite superstore - good price but out til January, everybody else I tried is selling at 149+del

yes i found that just make sure they are in stock everyone i rung didnt have them in stock even thow there website listed in stock

Hehehe.....can warn about a dealer on Ebay in Germany i tried to buy a Dreambox from, he had many in stock and i asked what model it was, if it was with the new Alps tuner, he replied it's the new generation, software no problem.

That wasn't really the answer to my question so i asked again if it was the Alps, he then replied "I don't know"

After that i replied back if he could ask his distributor what version it is.....


He replied "No"


Hehehehe....dodgy dealers everywhere........

the new db500 has an audio button on the remote....


satsuperstore now has the new ones in.

ive just bought one from there a week ago......and im selling due to parents buying my a 7000 for xmas (lucky me).....its brand new with full receipt etc...also has the inxtc and xplus hardcore card with it....110 quid to the UK only.
