First of all I just wanted to say thanks to the members of this forum.
Without there posts and advice I woulndn't have gotten anywhere.
After a little reading of this forum I took the plunge and bought a Skystar 2 and then a Skystar 1 CI. After a lot of banging my head against the wall and research I finally got them working under progdvb & mytheater (except for the remote which came with the skystar 1).
I wouldn't normaly ask for advice, I seem to learn more banging my head against the wall for weeks and learning through trial and error.
Unfortunatley the girlfriend is prergnant and due to problems with diebieties, epilepsy and various other problems she's going to be induced within 3 weeks. This leaves me 3 weeks to plaster paint the walls and ceiling lay a floor and fit a kitchen. (Not forgetting to install a sattelite system).
So I appologise for asking questions that are probably all ready out there.
I live in the Blackpool Area 53 45 40 11 N / 3 01 55 29 W and it get's very windy in the winter around here.
My plans are to set up a PC in the living room and kitchen both machines will have 2 DVB-s cards. I plan 2 run 2 sets of Coax up the wall into the attick so I can get the platering done. At a later date I can wory about distributing them. I've allready got a Manhaten hh140alu arriving in a couple of days, this will go on the back of my house on a south west facing wall. I have a 80cm aluminium dish and a thompson quad lnb which will go on to the hh140alu. There's also a sky mini dish at the front of the house which I plan to fit a quad lnb too. I plan to later use splitters from each of the 4 coax cables in the attick down to the sky and moveable dish. (Basicaly poor mans multiroom + free european tv)
My questions are:
If I bought a dragon cam used preditor and stuck it into the skystar 1 CI with a valid sky subscription card, is there any software to transmit the decoded signal from the valid skycard across a wirless network to watch it from the skystar 2's in the other rooms.
If this isn't possable can the new diablo wireless cam decrypt a valid skycard.
For the Moveable Dish I was planing to use T&K brackets and a lengh of scaffolding pole. I'm planing to upgrade the dish to a 1.2 meter aluminium mesh dish in the future and would like to know what size T & K brackets and lengh of scafolding pole would you recomend.
I did read a step by step post for installing a morised satellite but it didn't have a guide for the size of bracket for the size of dish.
Sorry for being such a muppet.
