Hi there,

I'm almost certain this is the wrong forum, but It's 2:35 am here and I can't think straight! so please move this (moderators, thanks)

I'm currently living in Kuwait, and it's boring! for the past few months I've been getting some 'satellite guy' who keeps working channels for me for money... I've paid him so much needlessly! I want to know how to do this on my own now, I'm getting broke.

Currently I have a: Dreamer DR900 reciever. I have a large satellite dish... I don't know the kind. IN ANOTHER LIFETIME I have showtime/orbit channels working/descrambled. I am wondering, how can I get HOTBIRD? There's a lot of english, european, and HD channels and I want to get them.

is this a software or hardware? is it a simple matter of searching? or setting a frequency? or what?

I'm very new to this!!! please be kind...

Well if you want to learn the forum is here for you to read and no matter what I post here I cannot make you do that, all the information is here in one form or another

That could have been achieved in a number of ways, telling us the receiver doesn;'t really help to know how it was done previously. You must remember that many providers have gone secure in the last two years

Rubbish, there is nothing open at the moment on that bird and certainly no English channels there are only 7 HD channels and 6 are secure encrypted

There is no way to get round secure encryption other than a genuine subscription or a card share. The latter is obviously illegal however it does take place and there is information about it on the forum. Whether your system is capable of partaking in a card share system is something I certainly do not know but of course you would have to pay for that as well or bring something to the party in the form of an existing subscription. The days of free TV are really almost gone unless you know a lot about the various ways of defeating the systems, so unless you are prepared to spend hours finding out and learning what to do, I would recommend you pay for your TV viewing
