The second Sunday in August is National Melon Day in Turkmenistan....!

Yes I know its pretty odd but its made me smile at the slightly insane idea odf the national TV channel praising the melon!

Reminds me of an ex girlfriend who was known as melons.... :D

good gourd that a lot of melons :)
 
Those melons (of the water variety) are commonly seen in Russian markets as they are usually bigger, sweeter and, most importantly, ripen earlier than the native variety.
 
It is true you cannot beat a ripe melon or even a pair of ripe melons
