Ive had a guy in to install my system, and its also driving him nuts too.

Pole is vertical, T&K's etc.... Now, when we swing the dish via the motor, it wont pick up on the dreambox, yet it picks up on the meter.

The box is at fault? - well, ive taken my sky feed, put it in the Dreambox and its buzzing at 93% yet nothing on the DB with the motorised dish. - LNB is working perfect, as last time, i could pick up 13e, 19e, 28.2e without any problems (just those 3, as motor was dodgy)

Ive checked my lat and long and they are correct, and he even double checked them.

SO to recap what we have done so far

Installed everything as it should be.
Swing dish to Thor - meter picks it up but box doesnt (unless manually change transponder around 20 - 30 times).
Swing dish to Hotbird - meter picks it up but box doesnt. (same as above re transponder)
Swing dish to Sirius - meter didnt pick it up but box did! (same as above re transponder)

YET now, even by changing the transponders, it isnt picking up ANYTHING

LNB - checked and working
Motor - Replaced and working
Cable - worked last time as i got 13, 19 and 28.2
Box - working, scanned last time plus works on 28.2e now.

Could this be a box issue (DM800 HD) or could this be something very simple indeed?

Reason i think its not the box is that it works flawlessly on a still sky minidish picking up 28.2e

I have a HD6800 on order but it wont be here untill the end of hte week so i cant test with that just now.

I had an eagle box on motorised system and found it wouldnt run through the sats like my technomate would(flawlessly) it'd miss by stopping early or driving way past, prob for me was i was using an incompatible motor, apparently they will only run smooth with certain motors and cable runs that arent too long-i swapped motor and all fine for me, cant say this will be same for you but as eagle is a dbox clone maybe worth looking at

OOps forgot i got compatible list of motor from A***t

Well i have the Dreambox DM800 and a Moteck SG2100 Motor which i was told was a good motor. Cable run is around 30m

Following on from Kenny. Have you installed a channel list? If not give it a try. Alternatively have you tried using Diseqc to move the motor? Maybe you will have more luck that way ...............at least to see if the DM800 is faulty or not.

Initially my eagle was on a dish at bottom of garden cable run was about 20m for me, maybe slightly longer, when i had probs i did a bit of research and i decided to add second motorised system on the wall just outside from my tv, so put in new dish and motor and shorter cable run as i'd read eagles have low power output and cable length and certain types can cause probs.

When i'd done the above it was sweet no probs at all:)

As i said cant comment on d box but somewhere in menus of eagle their is an option to increase output voltage, on a**** i believe in eagle section their is a sticky re these probs

Many installers have forgotten to adjust the LNB correctly on the boom arm. Check yours is not one of those (usually in the Maplins kits) that needs to be fitted at 45 degrees off the centreline. You will find some faint marks on the top near the feedhorn that gives the game away.

A lot of the basic install information places very little importance to an updated transponder list but to find a specific satellite without current transponder information is next to impossible, Eg, I own 3 pansat 2500a's that Pansat has abandoned and want nothing to do with and the factory satellite/transponder list is over 4 years old, when I tried to setup my new SG-2100 with this box it's impossible as the receiver can no longer see any active transponders on any satellite that's visible from my location and without an active transponder the satellite is all but invisible to the receiver. I pulled the outdated satellite/transponder list from the receiver and updated the information direct from Lyngsat using channel master on my computer then saved the file and reinstalled updated file back into the receiver and low and behold all the satellites are now visible to the the receiver. Setup of the motor was a breeze. So updated transponder information is very important to get setup with the least amount of problems.
