dont know at the moment,in c or in kuband,we will see:)

cband getting weaker and weaker,8 month ago,i got around 135 channels now only 84,and no hd channels, signal to weak, for 2.40 mesh dish here!
looking forward,to receive ,more stronger signal,in one month, from now,if we have bad luck, most of cband channels gone, maybe with sterable beam!

i still dont know,how many cband beams,this postion have=?

i read some where dstv will be ku band mid october start dvbs2 hdtv channel

Intelsat 20 , it's the most heaviest and the most powerful satellite of Intelsat .
So we have to wait a little bit , to see the signal strength , of the bird

17 August 2012
MultiChoice migration to new satellite
Dear Accredited Installer,
By now you may have heard that the Intelsat 20 (IS-20) satellite launched successfully in early August 2012. MultiChoice plans to migrate its services from IS-7 to IS-20 on 17 September 2012.

This migration has implications for single cable distribution systems used in some multiple-unit dwellings (MUDs) like complexes and flats. We need your urgent action to ensure MultiChoice's customers, dependent on such single cable distribution systems, do not miss out on new/future services and channels.

What you need to do

When MultiChoice migrates its DStv services to IS-20 on 17 September, it will not only replace current IS-7 transponders with IS-20 transponders, but also add an additional 7 transponders to make a total of 20 transponders.

Stage 1: Migration to IS-20 transponders - All current IS-7 transponders, except for 10 970MHz horizontal/low-band, will be replaced with IS-20 transponders with the exact same frequency and polarisation/band. IS-7 transponder A1 (10 970MHz - horixontal/low-band) will be replaced by IS-20 transponder at 11 474MHz - horixontal/low-band)
Requirements: All head-ends in service will require 1 converter input frequency to be re-programmed with the new IS-20 parameters. The output frequency remains the same, which means no decoder requires settings to be changed. MultiChoice will double illuminate the IS-7 and new IS-20 transponder frequencies for 2 weeks from 17 September to allow this change to be made without disruption to subscribers.

Stage 2: The head-end needs to be upgraded to accommodate at least of 21 transponders (ideally more). This needs to be completed by 1 October 2012.
Requirements: Every head-end requires additional processors to be added to the existing system. Please ensure you approach, inform and quote the body corporates ASAP, to ensure they do not have unhappy DStv customers missing out on new services from 1 October 2012.

Please urgently get in touch with your body corporates and also contact the technical team in your area. If you have any questions in this regard, please contact the Field Services team on 011 289-2357.

The MultiChoice Field Services team

NB MultiChoice does not recommend single cable distribution systems for the reasons apparent in this letter. MultiChoice recommends a 5 cable system, which does not require the kind of ongoing intervention detailed in this letter.

it start low ku band trasfeld from is 7 to is 20
7 transponder to beam south africa

Looking forward to doing some testing to see if any of the old channels can be seen again.
Will report back if I have a positive finding.
:)

the intelsat 10 plan 1 october c band
also multichoice start hd platforma supersport hd 5 channel

Nothing so far but will keep a sharp look out on the C-band for multichoice channels.

Please have a watch on C-band. TP12 4185 (NDTV) will be switched today around 16:30 UTC. Many other TPs will follow. This is done one by one.

12722 V SR 266657 has now migrated to Intelsat 20. I checked signal here. Used to get 42% now it is 80%. This is on the Europe/Africa KU beam
