I've never tested an Inverto black lnb before and I saw a couple of great deals on ebay. I'm looking at the black premium and black eco, any suggestions? The price is almost the same with free shipping but the eco has a slightly lower db noise level.

The Inverto Black Ultra (IDLB-SINL40-ULTRA-OPP) is what you want (for weak signals), not Premium or Eco.
Premium or Eco may be nice for multi-LNB arrangements with confined space.

Don't order Black Ultra's via Ebay, they may ship the similar looking Black Premium.
I recommend to buy both a Single and Twin (or a few of each) from a well-known webshop, then try which one performs best.

I bought a premium on eBay a while back because I didn't know there was a difference, well by accident, and because of the "restocking fee" and me having to pay to send it back I didn't bother.

Will a premium have a big difference from an ultra?

Any ideas where to order an ultra from?

Thanks, unfortunately amazon doesn't ship to Canada and amazon Canada comes up blank. I think I will pull the trigger on the other ultra I saw.

Picked one up from the UK.

I've bought 12 Black Ultra's over the years from a few UK eBay sellers and I've got what I ordered but I tend to stick with the larger companies.

In my opinion the best one is the one with the sticker with red text, i.e. not the black and white sticker.

Never seen one with a black and white sticker and I've got 12 of them bought from various sources.

Edit: just realised I'd said something similar a few posts up...

Have you tried it yet?

In my collection of IBU Single LNB's, the labels are:
"Black Ultra" in Red: S/N P114900xxx (1 pce) and P123302xxx (3 pcs)
"Black Ultra" in White: S/N P134100xxx (5 pcs, bought a couple of months ago).
So the latest series, Inverto wants to save a penny by leaving the red colour out!
These five are all performing fine on the T-55, tolerance within +/- 1 MHz.
Don't think there's a need to worry.
Curious about your Serial Number though!

Both my single and quad have white stickers not the red ones, are they an inferior quality?

Bought the from a sat. retailer on this site/forum.

Posted my testing results here :-

"" Inverto ultra black single versus quad signal strength fringe reception astra 1N @28.2E bbc/itv from central southern norway, 100 cm tm dish, tm5204 hdci m2 stb, 5 meter brand new high quality copper braided coax.
Comparison done on the veranda thus could bypass the diseqc motor clear blue sky temp ~+20c, every position ( every 2 mm with skew test left center right ) tried on the long necks ( had hoped the extra longneck on the single would let me find the sweet spot on the dish ) spent 4 hours testing ( dish is mounted head height at the end of the veranda firmly anchored top and bottom ).

Conclusion :-

The quad had a slight edge over the single on all TPs ( 8 ) tested signal strengths on the quad were level 96/97 quality 88/92 the single were level 96/97 quality 85/92.

Also tested a wildcard LNB the Maximum v4 quad 0.2 Db on the same setup and TPs results were level 97 constant quality 90/95.

As you can guess I have left the maximum in place.

Hope this helps ppl with fringe reception.

Regards

Ps. Also tried all the TPs on astra 2F level 97 quality 8 so no lock. ""

Regards

Does it really matter what is sticker's color? Anyway all of them made in PRC, and if those people lacking red paint they use black or purple or whatever. I have got several IBU, some of them have different stickers and serial numbers, but performance is still OK. Not satisfied- use bigger dish!

Have you tried it yet?

I just tried it out and I was a bit disappointed with the results but the weather is cloudy and a bit of rain so I will wait for better weather to test it against my others. I will be testing it out against my invacom snh-031 and my Amiko premium L-104, which is presently being used as my ku feed.

If you are using it with the F15 it might overload it on a short cable run, I got much better results by either looping it through another receiver first or adding an attenuator.
