Inverto Twin Black Ultra flange conversion...!!

Hi,

was playing around with a spare inverto Twin black Ultra i had around and i came up with the idea of converting it to C120 ,i have used an adaptor from a Dead Twin inverto C120 lnb.the idea was to adapt the LNB to fit the channel master feed horn...find details thru the pictures ,doing that i have gained about 1db/ 1.5db ..regards

i have used 3 items+ my hands to do the whole work ,the tools in the fotos and a strong epoxy 2 components glue ..nothing else ....;)

Well I was half right. I like the creative use of a pipe cutter.

to save the hassle of cutting the lnbs apart why not just filed down the feedhorn on the inverto black ultra so it was smooth and just drill 4 holes to bolt it to the feedhorn ?

was the 1db gained on a test of something weak for your area such as astra 2d or an overall gain of 1/1.5db ?

the problem i couldnt apreciate properly the signal as the weather is real crap down here and 2nd ajustment will be needed ,the reference was on astra 2d Vertical 10.847 ...i´d say it would give more signal after that mod..if you see well the black ultra original feedhorn wont reach the focal point 0 of channel master 1.80 and stay behide about 3-4 cm ..thats why i decided to try this ,,regards

Hi, when you cut the black ultra was it a guess or did you measure to get the focal distance ? the feedhorn has a fixed position and with no adjustment on lnb the cut position must be critical.

no guessing there m8 , i tryed to match as much as possible the original flange version witch fits perfectly with CM feed horn, by the way Inverto just came up with a new range of Flange LNBs called "Flange Black Pro" ,,you can find all details in their web site ( _www.inverto.tv ) , i already orderd couple ,,hopefully will get them very soon...mean while i have to wait for the weather to do more tests with the moded black ultra....regards

These LNB's are like ...rare as rocking horse sh1t in the UK ..
I still havent got one ....
..and you just cut one up ...

LOL...is UK completly closed from imports or what??? you can get them anywhere in germany ..here in spain Tecatel sells them exclusively ,they just had an agreement with them ..i can show you a box full of single Black ultras i have here...cheers

viperscan, order one from germany, hmsat.de are good. I'm ordering one from there as same nothing on uk sat shops

pipino, why the need for a box of them was you testing them to see if there was a variation in them from a batch or something ?

It does often feel like we are the poor relation in Europe...
I guess its what comes of living on an Island.
