Hi...

i'am looking for some info on iptv boxes,seen a couple on fleabay but just wondered what there like for quality & are there any probs with them crashing,do any of you guys use them? Looking for AD sports (26e) for the new prem season,as a big dish would be impossible due too space...

Give folks a chance Mark - its Friday night and theres a big football game on. Many folk will be relaxing with their families or yelling at the telly about now :D

Also many folk only log in a couple of times a week.

Those 30 views will include search engine spiders/bots, none members looking at the forum, forum staff having a quick look to see if the post is ok etc.

Hopefully you might get an answer over the weekend although remember iptv is still a fairly new adventure, and relatively few members will have used a full on iptv service. I know one member has invested in a Russian iptv subscription "receiver" but thats about the only one I can think of atm.
 
Not IPTV as you mean it but I've played around with a Slingbox between my home in the UK and various places in the UK and France.

It's highly unlikely that you'll get a picture quality that's as good as a good SD picture unless the UPLOADING site can offer at least 2Mbps. You're unlikely to be stifled by your download speed as this is invariably much higher than upload.

My UK upload speed is about 1Mbps and the picture quality from that is watchable but not really as good as an SD picture from satellite. And as for true HD quality - forget it.
 
Your profile says you have DM800 and 500HD so you don't need another box.
You can just add a plugin for IPTV and add your streams as you require.
 
hello, we tested ip sling here in italy from the uk as well as with the states.
here is the info if they can provide 2 mag upload from the sourse and you can get 1.2 to 2 mega down load then it will work well.
problem is that more internet providers offer 250k up and 4 meg down load.
some internet providers offer so much bits down per month and charge extra for extra bits.
so if you are streaming from your house and you have only 250 k upload it will not be enough for good picture.
so you would need 2 meg upload garentee and unlimited up and down and that part should be ok.
last is where you are watching this.if you are in a hotel and can not get 1.5 meg to 2 down load then your watch quality will be limited.

it could be there is another way to do it.
