Irdeto CAM & Smart Card Compatibility

Hi,

I am new to this game and need some info please. We are in Algeria and are linked into the PAS10 Sat trying to get DSTV from Multichoice.

We are using Nokia MediaMaster 9650-S Decoders with Irdeto CAM's. The CAM's are Irdeto P/N 901275 Rev.1.0. The Multichoice Smart Cards read 'Africa C-Band Version 4'

Could someone please confirm or deny if this Smart Card should be able to work with the Irdeto CAM or do we have to upgrade the CAM to Rev2 ? If upgrading is required, can this only be done by purchasing new CAM's or can this be done via software upgrade?

The 901275 Irdeto cam should be ok for any Ird2 package.

You can't change that cam into anything else without professional equipment.

Thanks for the info. I have just tried it again without any luck. We only get the free channels but no pay2view. Is there anything you can suggest or should I just go ahead and get the Irdeto V2 CAM's ?

You need local advice, there mght be another problem with the card.

As I said earlier the 901275 cam should work with official Ird2 cards.
