My Satellite Setup
Gibertini 104cm motorised dish with a Technomate 5402 HD CI+ and TBS 6925 + Gibertini 90cm with 9E 13E 19.2E and 28.2/5E with a Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-HD-S2 Media Centre PC and Pure EVOKE Flow Radio + 100cm Channel Master with 2 LNBs at 24.5W and 30W

Just for the first time caught IRIB mux on 20E always been a distant possibility for me due to being DVB-S2 8PSK I think it may of changed?

3964 R 30000

Can't confirm 2/3 or if DVB-S2 8PSK would anyone able to help me out?

Anyone able to give it a look?
 
If the weather is ok over the weekend I'll try and take a look, although it means pulling the 16E / 21.5E & 26E lnb's off one of the 1m dishes!

About time I had another look at 20E anyway

hi remlap - i,ve only just seen this thread --

i just re scanned this with the F15 and it shows as 3/4 DVB-S2 8PSK

Signal is very low here so might not be worth the effort.

to be honest its so long since i looked here -- i cant say if its increased or not for me,
i,m using the 1.8 so i,m getting a strong signal -- its showing 11.2 db on the F15

I'm very interested to get IRIB signal in London, would you please kindly help me about the equipment I need, i.e size of dish or ... as you already managed to get this.

hi-- i,m using a 1.8 offset dish with a BSC421 ln.b. fitted with a conical feed for receiving C band channels -- but 20 east is generally much stronger than most C band transmissions so should be receivable with smaller dishes a 1.2 metre dish may well be enough to get the channels you want . i dont have C band setup on 1.2 here right now so cant check -- but i,m sure someone else on here can ??

I used to see 20E on the 1.2m dish. Now, most transponders are below lock due to the house in the way and shadowing about half of the dish.

It's 8PSK DVB-S2 so much harder a catch than the other signals there on my 1.2m
 
So according to the feedback I'm getting I can get the signal for IRIB on 20E Arabsat 5C if I have the 1.8m prime focus c-band dish at London. Is this something for certain?

On the other hand can anyone suggest which piece of equipment and recommend me a place to get these staff? i.e the

-Satellite Dish
- Mount
- Type of LNB
- or ...
 
Imprtant questions before you start

do you know just how big a 1.8m dish is??

do you have tolerant neighbours & be willing to dig a big hole to contain several tons of concrete in it in the garden?
 
And do battle with Planning Officers.
 
Hi,

I don't think 1.8m is that huge.
Anyway I have a large private garden that I can place this over there.
For now lets think there is no problem with neighbours and no planning is required.

is this something that will certainly technically work?

You might not think its big but I guarantee you neighbours will :D
 
Well I have a fully detached house, which there are no neighbours within 20m from the house.
 
What's the need for IRIB's channels?
