hi i was just wondering if there is any way at all to receive IRIB channels such as IRIB 1,2,3,4,5 in the UK?
 
The Iranian channels come & go as they are forbidden from transmitting on European satellites. At the moment there doesnt seem to be an easy way of getting them via satellite - no doubt they are available via web streams.
 
IRIB package (11 TV & 15 radio) back right now on Yamal 402 (54.9 East), 11002 H 21500 3/5 8PSK.
S/N 9 dB with 100 cm here.
 
wow thank you so much for the quick reply, I really don't have much of an idea of what I need to do to receive the channels, would i need to move the dish to 54.9 East then search for it on the satellite?

Depends what dish you have, will need to be a reasonably sizes dish.
 
Thats new & the frequency sites havent caught up yet :D

What sized dish are you using?
 
Not sure at all to be honest, I'll have to find out and post here again soon, could you recommend any dishes that would be able to pick up the channels?
 
11002 H is European beam frequency, it should make it into UK.
How long this transponder will last is another question...
 
martin-f was getting the previous txions on a 1m dish. I might go and have a go in a few mins if the rain stays off.
 
Be advised the last time these transmissions were on this satellite they lasted 2 days before they were taken off!
 
hmm, but these channels become available on different satellites at different times right? Is there absolutely no way of having these channels everyday apart from livestreams online?
 
Not at the moment. The EU has ordered all European satellite operators to remove Iranian channels in recent months, so they keep popping up on whats left open to them. Which isnt much.....
 
ah I see, well atm the satellite isn't receiving anything because of the rain but i'll try again on that Yamal one soon as it's still better than nothing, also what was the reason for the European satellite operators to have to remove iranian channels?
 
Are you using a DVB-S2 capable receiver? If not you wont get these. And you will probably need at least a 1m dish too.

Without getting too political the EU doesnt like Iran atm.
 
Sorry I have absolutely no idea, I could maybe try and find out tomorrow but thank you all so much for the help, I've been searching for hours before I found this great website!
 
If you give us the make & model of the receiver you are using we will be able to tell you that bit :)
 
I know it's a "technomate" I'll go and have a look to see if i can find the model now.
 
I'm not sure if this is right but I think it's a "TM 3000 D"
