RD100, Love the Manhattan Plaza 550. Great receiver. Love it so much just bought another, well actually bought the 450 Plaza which is pretty much the same really. I'd recommend it, but takes a little getting used to all its little quirks.

cheers,

If you buy a used andrews feedhorn be carefull which one you buy as there are over 5 different type's of andew's RX only feedhorns some for linear some for circular and diffrent freq ranges,

I once looked at some one's dish for them as they was having trouble with different channel's on different satellites and it turned out the ku band linear feedhorn they was useing only covered 11.700 to 12.200 not the full 10.950 to 12.750

HI all and also
@Rd100.
I am using a CM 120 offset for Nilesat and am interested in the high band. I have an Invacom QDF-31 and I want to assort the lot with a feedhorn: Andrews 611-6060-07 or 611-6060-10. As the 10 is specialised in high band I suppose tnat it would perform better than the 07 in its range. Keano confirmed this.
I had ordered a 611-6060-07 from the states and the order never came through.
So back to square one.
Could you advise on where to find a reasonably priced 611-6060-10?

I am here:-flash

I have been lucky enuf to try loads of diffrent type's of lnb's on andew / channel master dishes from 60 cm up to 4.9m over the last 10 year's and one thing i have learned is don't listen to what LNB companys put on there lnb's i have seen high qulity 0.9db lnb's wipe the floor with so called 0.2db lnb's,

As for useing a feedhorn you should always use a feedhorn matched to the spec of the dish this matters more as the bigger the dish get's E.G a 2.4m andrew's will act as a 2.0m dish with out the correct feedhorn,

Last summer i had a load of lnbs 40mm lnb-f's and c120's what i found is that without the feedhorn and c120 you loose about 1.5DB of the gain of the dish with out it,

It is up to you if you want to use the feedhorn with a c120 lnb you just need to look at what you will be useing this dish for if its just going to be on astra or eutelsat 13'e or hispasat etc Just put a 40mm LNB-F on it but if you want to pick up weak satellites and get the most out of the dish and have the cash to spare get a c-120 lnb,

Best make lnbs are inverto, invacom, mti, cal amp, norsat, s microwave, cambridge, sharp, etc

I use a inverto c120 myself it works well better than those over priced invacoms i dont know why people bang on about them, The best 40mm lnb-f i have used is the sharp one

here you go check these item numbers on ebay

inverto / 170031665078
Sharp 0.3 / 220007891326
Also good sharp 0.6 / 220007892515

I have a 2.4 mts offset channel master dish and i´d like to know what is the exact match feed horn for my dish?

and also can you suggest me a ku linear band perfect match for this feedhorn¡

is there a way (a chart or something like that) to check what kind of feedhorn you need according with the dish size one person has? cause i´d like to know it.

thanks...

Welcome to the forum Chaco.

Please specify what satellites and what bands you are interested in.

As your location is south america you have probably different standards than in Europe.

Also the requirements are different depending on whether the signal is circular or linear orthogonal because both feedhorn and LNB's would be different.

Once the requirements known a proper recommendation is possioble.

ok, go to this link
_http://www.hispasat.com/media//Amazonas.pdf

and take a look at the yellow ku band map (north america Mexico). i´m in 45 and 46 range of the footprint. but in reality this signal sat is very low, so i'm gonna use a 2.4 offset Channel Master dish to get it.

i hope this info help you...

thank you...

I would use the CM 611-6060-10 assembly. This assembly consists mainly of a C120 feedhorn specialised in the upperband 11.7 to 12.2 MHZ which covers the TPs that you have mentioned. It also includes a transition which you will not need.
Bolt a C120 high quality Universal LNB like a selected INVACOM.
For long life and better quality use an Amiwima Quattro
YP AQC 120 LNB from:

Allsat W. S. GmbH

Schlossgartenstr. 1
76848 Wilgartswiesen
Tel. ++49 6392 994166
Fax. ++49 6392 994542

The main specs are:
YP AQC 120 LNB

Flange C120 circular
Noise Figure 0.3 dB
Gain 50 to 60 dB
Cross polarity isolation 29 dB min.
High Low Band isolation 29 dB min.
Output VL, VH, HL, HH
DC Voltage 10 to 18 V
Current 200 mA max

This is a selected LNB from Invacom and has a very low noise figure. The test report accompanies the LNB..
This LNB´s cost 145 € plus VAT and S&H. As it is a Quattro you should use a multiswitch of which you will be only using the two high polarities.
