Is anyone able to record Sky Arts HD

Hi, looking for somebody who has access to Sky Arts HD channel locally or via satellite (which would be better) to record single concert (if possible without skips and freezing).
It is a hobby and a passion and it's only for a private use, since I collect concert and music videos all my life, almost 30 years.

I could offer other interesting concerts in exchange along with great gratitude if somebody could be able to help out.

Thank you for your kindness, time and it's not my intention to offend anybody in this cool community.

P.S.
Also I have read that some of the content is actually available in UHD too on Sky Arts, so it would be great if somebody could check this info too.
 
Sky Arts HD should be viewable in your region with a 1m dish (and a subscription).


The issue(s) will be transferring the output onto another medium with the same quality along with the uninterruption of a programme by adverts.

Do you have a neighbour that has got the service to check ?

What is the concert? It might be available via other methods.

I assume the channel is encrypted and smart cards only work with matched offial receivers which either do not allow recording or sign the recording to only work with the specific receiver that made the recording.
In other words, what you are asking is not possible, except for someone in possession of a subscription and a HDMI capture device that doesn't enforce the HDMI protection. These are difficult to come by, like the AVmedia h727 cards with old drivers.

It will be available, but much later.

Which concert is it? That information may bring better results.
 
Yes, it's Jarre, but video and especially audio quality is better on Sky Arts. So if somebody can do it would really be amazing.

It is nor possible to record and share a transmission made by Sky, unless you use a capture card, as I posted previously. This, however would not record the original stream but instead require MPEG decoding and encoding, adding artifacts. And even this process would require the capture card to be special in that it ignores the encryption flag in the HDMI signal. Such cards are hard to get by and require old/patched drivers.

I doubt that you can extract the HDD of an official Sky receiver and extract the files on it. For sure the HDD is protected or the recording itself is stored encrypted.

I would be really interested in someone correcting me and telling me that I am wrong.

Sky arts HD is 1080i. Why do you think recording it would be better that the recording from Mediafire?

The OB truck filming it, if for a TV Channel, was probably in 1080i mode anyway.

I would think such a concert would have UHD camera kit inside and a truck outside with similar recording equipment.

As per earlier, high quality content will be along soon.

Sky Arts is FTA,and on the Euro beam,so pretty easy to get...like sky news ,CNN (which now is encrypted for an obscure "hotel" story..)
