My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

The ring around the front of the "C" band LNB is called a Scala ring, is this what you are talking about???

All newer style LNB's have feed horns, if you have a very old "C" band dish then it needs a feed horn, but the newer style "C" band LNB's do not need one as they are built in.

All the feed horn does is channel the signals down to the LNB's internal antennas, it does not increase the signal strength.

The only way to increase the signal on a satellite is with a bigger dish, better LNB or better coax. (if the run is too long, over 200 feet)

Which Asiasat? There are at least 2. In either case you are going to need at least a 1.2m dish for reliable reception according to the footprint maps on the Flysat site. If you are in western Iran Asiasat 9 at 122E may be out of reach - although looking at the channel lists I assume its going to be Asiasat 7 at 105E

yes. I mean conical feedhorn. but in this picture is flat feed horn not conical model.

I want to receive 100 and 105 degree. i receive 200 channels of asiast 105 degree without feedhorn on 110 cm dish.

You may need 2 dishes - I doubt you will get 5 degree separation on c-band lnbs even without the scalar rings. You certainly wont with the scalars fitted.

Get a set of scalar rings & see if that brings one of the satellites in better.

With an offset dish you would be better off with a conical feed, some of them have a sealed cap with the advantages of keeping out rain and dust from the important bits.

What LNB do you have now? With or without feedhorn fixed to it? (Photo?)

As I understand it, the (position of the) feed should match the illumination angle (or say: f/D-equivalent) of the offset dish.
Most offset dishes have an effective f/D of about 0.65, I read.
So I'm not sure if a separate feedhorn or scalar ring would be helpful.

But I'm no expert at this....

Hi
I find the blue - stepped scalar C-Band-Conical-Scalar-Ring-Feedhorn-with-LNB-Holder-for-Offset-Dish.jpg_640x640.jpg gives better results than the - smooth cone scalar - on my 1.8 metre Channel master offset dish ... either will almost certainly optimize your reception somewhat .. once you have experimented to find the best position for the l.n.b. in its holder - in relation to - the best position for the scalar on the l.n.b barrel.

I use this eurostar lnb on offset dish. I want to know should I use conical scaler ring or not?

Yes - that is the type of scalar to use for that type of l.n.b. on your offset dish .... there is a good chance it will improve reception ... once you have found the best position for the scalar on the l.n.b barrel.

Is the LNB mounted to the dish with the scalar ring via the mounting arms or some other way?

If by the ring then you still need the flat one.

Its an offset dish Terryl, do you know of prime focus ring suppliers with offset bracket holders ?

There are plenty of 'yee-hah! - companies out there.

"Narrow" LNB's??

Hi Channel Hopper,
To receive Asiasat you really have to live in Eastern Europe.
In the middle of Ukraine or Moldova,
even from Poland it's impossible.
Which region do you want to receive Asiasat?

Here is a link to satbeams.com, it is an active footprint map for Asiasat, just zoom into your location where you want to view that satellite and click on it, this will give you an estimated dish size needed for that location for error free signals on Asiasat.
