the youtube plugins do work as i have tried them but i think what he means is, because the 8000 is new, something might be available to play the file directly from the box without needing to load his pc up everytime.
I think one of the main problem on models such as the 500-s was the buffering as they'd be nowhere to temporary store the data which is why vlc was used on a pc. For the 8000 i assume that it should be able to handle it.
Somebody mentioned to me a while ago about a tool for the 800 model that allowed you to watch videos off the likes of youtube without needing a pc running, but he said that the box just kept rebooting itself when he tried it. I forget what he said it was called but with the 8000 having more processing power, it might be powerful enough to do the task.
Maybe somebody may know the media player software i am talking about to play files from the net directly on your box.
