hi guys ive just done my first motorised sat dish install (took me about 4 months, but thats another story lol)
anyway got it on 0.8w thor bbc world news signal about 95,so ive done a scan ive got 6 sats on the eastside
and 3 sats on the westside
on the eastside they are
4.8e (55 services)
9e (44 services)
13e (634 services)
19e (417 services)
26e (76 services)
28e (333 services)

on the westside im gettin
0.8w (153 services)
5w (34 services)
and 30w (135 services)

in theory i should be gettin 42e to 42w (i got a good view) but im only gettin these sats, the pole and brackets
are plumb,so my theory that the dish is slightly off center to the east ???
can anyone confirm this, also i thought i come across an attachment on here (but i cant find it now) showing
the arc, showing differant arcs not being lined up properly can anyone enlighten me on this pls
my set up consists of dm500s,97'' technomate mesh dish,tm2600 motor

tia...

Well you've done well so far, may just need a bit of fine tuning.:)

What longitude are you and did you set up on Thor after using USALS to send the motor there?

You need to send the dish further out to 42E and poss 42W, and check why its not picking them up. You can gently push the dish up or down and see if they come in. Then from the diagrams it is usually possible to figure out in what way your arc is out.

thanks topper thats the one

pointed the dish roughly at thor 0.8w put in the usals into the box my longitude is -2.1721 which i put into the box as 2.172w,drove the dish to thor and fine tune from there,i did notice when the motor was at zero the dish was slightly off center to the left, should the dish be verticle when its on zero ???,i dont fancy takin it all down and restartin again (cos when i attempted the first time to do it i ended up cracking a few ribs and breakin my collar bone, when a gust of wind caught the dish and blew me off the ladders lol)

@ topper i noticed you are only a few miles from me i dont suppose you got an hour spare

The dish needs to be clamped centre on the motor shaft. When the motor is calibrated, the dish should be dead centre. With USALs, drive the dish to 1W, the motor will move to the calculated position; then align up the dish. Sound like you've pretty much got the hang of it ;)
