My Satellite Setup
1.2m channel master on a jeager 1224 motor. 55cm fibo Gregorian. VU solo2.

The normal No of pixels is 852 x 480,

but through the DVI input, takes it up to 1280 x 1024 60 Hz (SXGA).

Dont think this is HD, but would it be a better picture through the DVI input?

If resolution is 852x480, your plasma tv isn't hdtv.
Through the dvi input you may receive a better quality image but in fact, even if you can put at 1280x1024 *60hz, the real resolution is 852x480.
That's like my 42" lg plasma tv. I get better image quality using 852x480 as default resolution. (using a DVI with a PC as input)

I think is better you try.

ps.1280x1024 it's HD resolution but to get a HD compactible plasma you need a native resolution 768i. And a dvi and hdmi input

It could be if it's a widescreen (16:9) screen but otherwise I don't think it conforms to the specifiction.

don't know about specifications but I'm definitely able to enjoy hdtv content on it which looks way better than normal satellite.
