Is Sky HD broadcast 1080i/50 or 1080p/25??

My Satellite Setup
Dreambox DM800 HD - Sky HD Subscription, Technotrend S2-3200 PCI card.
My Location
East Anglia
I have conflicting sources that seem to tell me it is 1080p/25 and converted to 1080i/50 by the receiver and other people on another forum say it's broadcast at 1080i/50.

Can anyone clarify this please?

That's what I had always thought, however when compressing some of my recordings they appear as 25p without actually deinterlacing them.

All satellite HD is broadcast in 1080i with rumours of 1080P next year,personally I find if you have a full HD set you will hardly notice the difference even on fast action sports.:D
 
Thanks, it seems the bandwidth required for 1080p/50 would be prohibitive.
