At the moment my 24v pebble pool pump runs non stop. Is there a sensor that will turn it off at dusk and on at dawn. I can find lots of 240v which do the opposite to what I want.

Amazon stock 24V DC timers

You can, of course, use a relay and the light sensor will trigger the relay to stop

Solar panel with a relay?

That way sun comes up, panel switches over the relay, on comes the pump, sun goes down, relay loses power, and off goes the pump... :)

The 240 v supply comes straight from the consumer unit with a built trip fuse. Cable is underground and ends up near the pebble pool at a waterproof junction box. Transformer is connected to that and goes to the pool. Only place for a time switch is near the consumer unit. Prefer to use a sensor connected to the pool junction box.

Just turn the water off when it gets dark.

Just had another thought, again a relay, but with a 240v coil, the "NC" switched contacts going to the transformer, and the relay coil connected to a daylight sensor, sensor turns on for the night, flicks the relay over to the "NO" contacts, pump turns off... :)
