Is there a really definitive channel/satellite list?

My Satellite Setup
Have an SL65 at the moment, TM H-H motor(not sure of number), Lidl's 80cm dish and a Darkgold 0.1dB LNB. Got $LY +HD installed, but not sure I can continue to justify the big outlay.

The reason I ask is because I can never seam to find the channels, as listed on Lyngsat, to be the same as those on the satellite, I think, I am pointing at. I know, I must be getting too much signal as I am getting a lot of channels from adjacent sats, but with poor quality.
Should I use an attenuator in the line or use a cheaper LNB?
Like for instance I just did a blind scan on 16E and got all the EinsExtra and other channels that are strong on 19.2E.
Is this normal for a station at 50N 3W position to get channel crossover like that?

I know, I know change your STB. I'm going to but cannot afford it right now.

Regrettably you do not mention your dish details and it is most likely that the dish is the problem as the smaller dishes discriminate less and can pick up two sats at once

As you can see I did mention dish details.
 
That 80cm dish you mention doesn't quite have narrow enough beamwidth to completely eliminate the effect you describe - if you realigned the dish a little the other way, you can end up getting Hotbird Channels coming in on a Blind Scan for 16E.

So the key for that dish is precision alignment on the relatively weak 16E and, most important, NOT using blind scan but entering the TPs manually.

But 16E is really quite weak now, following a major failure last year and the subsequent redeployment of assets, so the 80cm dish will get very few Channels at all.

I only get a handful on my 1.1m right now!

And no, don't change the receiver: I have an SL65 in my stable and, for a cheapie, it is really quite excellent overall.
 
Sorry I was looking in your system details which is where I would expect it to be along with everything else.

As regards you question , what do you mean a definitive channels list. It is different depending on your tuner capabilities lnb geographic location and the footprints of each transponder, what you see on lyngsat or flysat is usually reasonably up to date. Don't forget that frequency polarity SR and FEC details are used across the arc so you can get swamped if you are minutely misaligned which often motorised systems are
 
PS: As for "definitive Channel lists". there are no official ones, just the clutch of high quality "self-help" sites like Lyngsat, Flysat, KingofSat (and others).

Generally they are 99.5% spot on, but there are so many alterations made each day that it's hard for their contributors to keep up!

If I really need info, I tend to correlate at least two of those sites - and even then any "funnies" can often be resolved by checking the Forums, Posting a question if need be.
 
OH! naturally, I didn't know about the problems with 16E. As for the SL65, yes! I don't mean to chuck it in the bin. It's all right for you guys that have a "Stable" but at the moment the SL65 is the only occupant of my stud farm. I am just after an STB that is more capable with current encr*****n. If you know what I mean? wink, wink!

Avoid using Blind scan unless your'e feedhunting or very short on time, it just fills up the receiver with lots of rubbish. If you just scan the correct tps, and you get the channels you want then you can get away with an 80cm, ut normally would go for a 1m these days for 16E due to the aforementioned satellite problems at that position.

Many of us only have one 'hobby' stb

Well generally you would require a Linux based stb then to allow card sharing as most other avenues have been closed for some time now
