Hi guys..
Want to keep my breambox 500s connected to the 'net so am thinking of going about it this way, is it possible?

* I have a netopia wifi modem/router which is linked to my phone line and is 3 rooms away from the dreambox
* I intend to purchase a second wireless router and link it to the dreambox via ethernet cable...will the second router act as a reciever and allow the connection of the dreambox to the internet? if so is there much hassle in configuring the setup ( I already have an old wired router can this be used instead of a second wireless one?) as usual your expertise is always appreciated

to use the old wired router you would need to lay a cable.
If so, then u could connect it directly to the DreamBox (DBx).
Since it looks that u dont want to lay new cables, the WiFi is a possible anwser:
Using a new wifi router (an access point would be ideal, but they cost as much as a router, and lack a switch), then u'll need to set it up to work as a slave of the frirst on, so that it will use the DHCP IP pool of the first.
Reading the Manual will show u how easy it is.
But if u still have doubts, please tell us the model, and will try to help.

but I would recomend one of good brand, 'cause of software upgrades, and signal quallity to bypass the walls

i set mine up last week and its perfect.
i have a linksys wireless adsl router (which i have replaced 3 times as the bundled software destroys the firmware)
i have connected my DB to a zoom access point. it works perfectly. remember to set the connection settings in the cuminications part of the DB so that the gateway/router has the correct address of yuor gateway/router

next step is to get the db to autoupdate the TPS through the wireless internet connection. still workign on this
