on a 2.4m dish? thanks in advance

A weak signal can be reached in Belfast on a 125 Gibi, at a stretch a 1.5 should pull it in (but might be impacted by rain fade).

Further West it's probably looking like a 1.8 or above for a similar signal.

Excollier maybe able to comment more on this as he is from Donegal..

Well then ive no chance on a 1m dish

I barely get Viasat on a 1m dish in the Scottish Borders (very weak signal disappears at the merest hint of drizzle). You dont have much chance in Belfast.

It's been reported that it is on a 1.8m andrews dish in mayo i haven't seen it with my own eye's yet but i will soon enough as im going down next weekend to collect 5 x 1.5m andrews dishes for viasat. Also the guy that reported it is a genuine guy so i personally believe him it's steve the owner of satellitetv.ie.

Hi tommybo

If you'r after viasat the 1.5m andrews will do you as a static dish and you can keep your 1m motorised.

A dish that size needs to be ground mounted mate..

Hi Toni

I haven't properly tested it yet on the Andrews dish but I was getting moderate results with the gibi 1.25. I will update you asap.

i am interested to know if you can get viasat with that dish too, trying for hours to get viasat with a 2.4m fortec star dish from map***s here in mayo but no joy.

I don't wish to be the bearer of bad tidings, but those F-S petalised dishes are prone to falling apart in a slight breeze. Do get your money back.

Im not surprised. Those 2.4m dishes normally work as nearer 1.2/1.5m . And as my honourable collegue has mentioned they are flimsy, so even if you get it working it will need dismantling and reassembling after a good gale.

Get some fishing line and string it right across the face in 3 or 4 places. Then put up a photo of the place where the strings cross. If the strings have less than a gap of 5mm between them I'll be amazed.

here is a photo of dish, does it look alright.

At first sight, yes, but only a 3D image would truly tell.

looks like your using the wrong lnb on the dish too, it is the adjustable feedhorn and c120 lnb on the dish ?

Is it a picture artifact or is the dish creased between "2 and 3 o'clock" on the photo? (just below the joint)

im using inverto c120 red classic lnb with invacom adjustable feedhorn. here is more photos, didnt string dish not sure how too.
