Get some nylon fishing line or thin cotton and put it across the face of the dish in the middle of the widest part of each petal so they cross in the centre under the feedhorn.

An accurately set up dish should have the 3 strings touching. A distorted dish will have them missing each other by a few mm.

Get some gaffer/duck tape, or use longer lengths of string and anchor to the mounting ring on the back of the dish..

I hate to say this about any satellite dish however the best place, for a map***s satellite dish is your local scrap yard.I have replied to you on another forum, why don`t you get a 1.8m or a 2.4m channel master dish.

ya i would love a 2.4m channel master but they are very expensive, do these 2.4m fortec work has good as a 1.8m channel master if set up right, as all i want is viasat pl channels 11747v27.

the conifer might be a problem, you could trim some off the top of it. how far away is the dish from the trees ?

have you got a meter to measure the signal strength ?

you sure its a 1.5m dish looks a little small.

the conifer tree is about 11 or 12m from dish others 15m, i dont have meter at moment so using reciever signal meter and dish is actually a 1.2m.

Give the trees a good trim m8. It won't hurt as for the viasat transponders try them after you cut the trees down the more the better looking at the lnb it looks skew is a little to much round move it back towards centre it's -7.6 off I am convinced you can pick it up in good weather. What receiver are you using?

Put it like this - Dreamboxes are not known for their sensitive tuners.

At a distance of 11-12M any object higher than 6.2-6.7M might cause problems, these are approximate values, your bigger problem is your location, as the further West you are, from the BSS Nordic beam, the larger the dish you need, until it becomes impossible.
I seem to recall someone in Wales, trying to get these channels, but I'm not sure what size dish he needed. What we could do with is a map, made using members reports, on what size dish they're using, their general location, and the signal strength/quality readings in various weather conditions.

Have you tried tuning in 12380 H 27500? There are a few FTA channels, using a different beam, that you could get.

then the dish is too small if you can get the european beam meaning the trees aren't causing the problem.

I think you will need a dish at least 1.8m or maybe 2m minimum to have any hope of getting the channels on the nordic beam

What are your signal strength/quality readings on the European beam?

Your dish is waaaay too small for the Nordic beam so forget that one.

You are looking at well over 2m.
