LONDON (Reuters) - A British fan of the cult TV show "Star Trek" has boldly gone where no man has gone before and created a giant maize maze dedicated to the programme.

Trekkie Tom Pearcy used satellite technology to help him cut the maze in the corn field at his farm near York, northern England, to celebrate 40 years since the show's first episode.

The maze, whose design includes images of character Mr Spock and the USS Enterprise spaceship, used 1.5 million maize plants and claims to be the biggest of its kind in the world.

Just one problem, why is the Enterprise NCC-1701 firing phasers at a borg cube, when we all know the borg didn't appear until TNG??? :confused

rolf swearing - thats a first.:-rofl2

Q's: was the guy doing the piece the actual farmer - else, the farmer has a right to be a bit pissed about some 'barstage' wrecking his corn crop.

Else he had a millitary spec GPS device to get such fine detail

Else, its a big lie - and photoshop'd an existing aerial shot.

And why do all the surrounding fields have totally different colours??

where's GB!

No, this is sad...

I put my dish up today without motor, locked on to 13e with a small sat finder, dug out my 1122s, but could not find my remote. As 30w was the last bird I looked I have no way to get the main menu up.

If it is real it's not much of a maze - too many openings and bits you cannot access.

A'maze'ing - anyone visited it?

If the picture is off Google Earth then it about three years old!
