Last week a third-party firm called me to get my feedback on my opinion of one of the financial institutions that have charge of my dosh.

As a "tick everything" sort of person who strives to ensure I don't get any contact other than directly about an Account, I was mildly peeved .................

Instead of going postal at them over the phone I waited ten marching paces and fired off a polite but somewhat terse Secure Message.

Got a suitable response about flagging my Account and it wouldn't happen again, your valued mugship.

Thought no more about it until just now when a big-wig rang me to discuss further, the outcome of which was not only acceptance of a suggestion I made about a simple amend to the Contact Preferences fields, but the offer of a cheque for £30 in compensation.

I was acutely unembarrassed about this and accepted without demur.

Let's see if it actually arrives!

Better than a kick in the teeth, and is useful as Jura Origin whisky is £25 at Asda and te$co at the moment... :D

So, you're getting the drinks in then?

I had to read that 4 times before I could convince my brain to not read that as "dish" :)

And, good as their word, a cheque for £30 has just arrived - along with an apologetic letter and a Financial Ombudsman Service leaflet. Overkill, methinks.

At least they take matters seriously unlike many other organisations.

That's not just a result; that's a very good result.

Mine's a Dranbuie shandy.

I had you down as a Pints of Creme de Menthe afficionado :-congrats

I'll have a pint of Macallans 18 year old single malt...wake me up on Boxing Day...

That must be about as rare as finding the Holy Grail in your coal shed.

Or nowadays, just finding a coal shed.....
