Anyway we get 2 strong ITV HDs already. I don't know the regions but I am not telling the frequency in case they find out and move it :-)

No, it's just a screen grab. The channel info is semi-transparent superimposed over the channel image.

I thought that was where C4 HD was going to end up but I assume they can't really squeeze more than 3 HD channels on a DVB-S 2D transponder.

Hello Huevos I need some advise urgentlly.
In this forum someone talked about free CH4 HD... and then it was encoded. Now this.
NDS encrypted for all these "free" channels means that i cannot get them with my FTA Vantage 8000S. Is it final? can i get a cardholder? I cannot believe i have a expensive new box with plenty of slots for cards and cardholders and they are useless...
My Vantage features:
-Conditional Access System
-Common Interface: 2 Slots PCMCIA, DVB CI
-Standard Smartcard: 2 Slots
-CAS: Conax, XCrypt, DGCrypt, Crypton, Firecrypt


Theres also another thing, the FREESAT cards from Sky... i know they are for sky boxes but, can I still fit one of those in my Vantage 8000S directly on one of my 2 card slots? could i install a PCMCIA card holder in one of my 2 empty card-holder slots?
I even could subscribe to Sky using my Vantage if I could buy the card holder. I have an address in London... so I would officially be receiving the channels on SE1 6GG.
Please help!!

You don't need to worry about the NDS encryption as this will be removed when C4 HD goes FTA (free to air) shortly. It's possible/probable that the signal will be moving to Astra 2D so all you have to worry about is whether your satellite dish is large enough.

You need a Sky receiver to subscribe to Sky. Sky white cards and FTV cards work fine in the card slot of my Vantage x221 TS CI with the latest firmware. Only Premium channels don't work in that receiver. Not sure with the Vantage 8000 but it should work fine (but not using the factory firmware).

We have just lost ITV 1 Meridian HD via EPG 178 here in the Canaries. It has moved to the BBC HD TP on Astra 2D and is vertically polarised so is not receivable here.

We have also lost Channel 4 HD which has moved to Eurobird 1 and I have just noticed that E4 HD has also disappeared (from 11856 V 2 North).

There seems to have been some major changed made today and none for the better :mad:

Only if you are a distant expat - they work fine in the UK and NW Europe

If you think this is bad just you wait till the new birds start going into service - you may possibly lose loads of channels.
