According to a post on another forum (DS) the ITV 1 HD reshuffle has resulted in ITV 1 Meridian appearing on the the 2B South beam (FTV).

According to itv.com (_http://www.itvmedia.co.uk/assets/itvmedia/content/downloadables/itv%20meridian%20micro%202009.pdf) the Meridian region is split into four and I am trying to identify which of these four areas map onto the two Meridian regions listed on flysat ( _http://www.flysat.com/28east.php) as being on Astra 2D 10891 H.

itv.com describes their regions as "ITV Meridian Thames Valley", "ITV Meridian South Coast", "ITV Meridian Sussex" and "ITV Meridian Kent". Whereas flysat lists:
10891 H (2D): "ITV 1 Meridian South" and "ITV 1 Meridian South East"
12402 V (2B North): "ITV 1 Meridian South East" and "ITV 1 Meridian North"

.. a different naming convention, so this is a bit confusing

As we can receive the 2D transmissions here but not the 2B North I want to identify a postcode that will allow me to receive the 2D ITV1 on 103 and the South beam ITV 1 HD 178 (my multi-room only has one Sky+ HD so I need 103 for the other regular Sky+ box).

Can someone please explain which areas map to the two Meridian regions on 2D.

Many thanks.

Well Thames Valley was closed down about 18 months ago so you can discount that one!

Try a postcode in the Medway Valley - somewhere in the Maidstone area.

Here is a postcode for Meridian South East (Folkstone) CT18 7AD

I just did a "scan"on 10891 H (2D) and it is listing "Meridian S" and "Meridian E". Presumable these are NOT the region reported above for CT18 ?

I reckon Salisbury or an IOM postcode will do it. I just have to wait for the other half to stop watching "Dalziel & Pasco" on the HD box to confirm that Meridian is still on the South beam. Assuming it is, then I guess the freesat viewers there are getting "London" and Meridian can be expected to remain there for the foreseeable future (he says optimistically) - LOL

OK. Just scanned the South beam 11973 V. Am still getting an ITV1 HD but it doesn't say what region it is. Will have to wait for the regional news tomorrow to confirm it is Meridian.

S will be the Southampton area. You want E.

Make the most of the widebeam ITV stuff - you will almost certainly lose it when Astra 2E / 2F go into service in late 2012 / mid 2013

Thanks for your reply, but as S and E are both appearing on that beam, why do you specifically say I need E ?

Well if you remember then please let me know, I don't want to "move house" to the wrong part of the country (as has happened in the past .... pesky postcode lottery :-( )
