Hi guys!!!My question to you.I've read on italian forum that UK channels ITV2HD,ITV3HD and ITV4HD
will be soon FTA?It's true?It seems strange to me...THX in advance!!!

Not heard anything about it myself. I'd be surprised if they do leave Sky's HD package as they get money from Sky subscribers to help fund the channels.

Only if they happen to be moving to a UK spotbeam & want to save a few quid on the encryption fees.

Personally Id be surprised as they were set up specifically to start an additional revenue source (the payments from Sky give encrypted channels)

Well they are on a UK spot, moved a while ago to ITV's own transponders, but I assumed this was a cost saving measure rather than preparation for going FTA. Perhaps that's what caused the rumour to start.

If they ever went fta it would have be on FreeView like other channels such as Quest that are encrypted on satellite not much hope of that happening with ever shrinking UHF spectrum for mobile internet :(

It seems that skybox pairing is not needed to watch ITV2 HD, ITV3 HD, ITV4 HD and ITV Encore HD. Just a smartcard is enough with CCcam.
