Jaeger 1224 Supermount Decilnation HELP!

Hi All,

I had my motorised system aligned over a week ago and can still track the arc from 30e to 30w which is my max however after a strong wind i am getting a signal quality of 60-80 percent before it was 100 percent on all satellites i've got a 1.2 channel master dish on 1224 supermount.

On astra @ 28.2 i am getting 80 percent quality now you guys might say thats enough but i want my 100 percent lol. the pole is plumb before anyonse asks.

anyway so i tried adjusting elevation on the mount the long bolt behind the mount and pole got 100 percent on astra i only adjusted it a little bit

i pointed the dish to thor than i lost thor so i readjusted it back however thou i can track the arc fine i think it has to do with the declination of the dish because if i just hold the dish a little higher i get 100 percent on astra move to thor i push the dish down a little lower i get 100 percent on thor really bloody confusing.


do i need to adjust the two offset bolts at the back ? could anyone who has installed one of these please guide me

Can you get it back exactly to the elevation setting you had before the storm...

Don't alter the elevation (or anything else).

First ..inspect it all for any obvious damage or anything lose etc..

Then put the stb on 1w and make a note where the motor dial is pointing…...

the mount shows it as where it is suspoced to be m8, however i've tried moving the offset bracket a little bit and it does improve the signal a little bit but then it messed up other satellites at the moment i am getting 75% signal or more basically all of east getting 75 on thor and 50 on amos which is 4degrees west and on hispa at 30w i get 90

on amos i always got 100 and all the rest i always got a bang on 99-100 i am pretty sure its somethig to do with the offset but dont know what

i live in wolverhampton west midlands is there anyone around here local who could help i dont mind paying a little bit to get it recitfied i would be greatly appericated i say little but cus its already cost me 75pounds to get it aligned orignally and that was a mth ago. and that bloke has gone on holiday.

please anyone?

leave the elevation of the motor alone

you will need to move the dish to 1west and adjust the top 2 bolts on the offset brackets which fit the metal plate holding the dish

peak the dish at 1west and then check the rest of the satellites and you should then be spot on

i would say the most likley cause for the loss of signal on east & west satellites on your set up after strong winds is the motor clamps on the pole have slipped .if you have ajusted any settings set them back to the original settings. select thor sat . check if the motor calibration is on zero ,loosen the motor clamps ( top & bottom ) so you can move the whole motor/dish east or west on the pole untill you restore the best signal , you can check the elevation angle of the motor with inclinometer ,you can set this by placing inclinometer on the top (side) of motor cover and ajusting the single large bolt ajuster under motor body untill you set the correct angle for your location ,when you have done this you can tweek the declination angle by ajusting the 2 top elongated brackets fastend to the dish backplate or the centre ajusting bolt on the top plate along with the 2 bolts that ajust & secure this top plate hope this helps along with the good advice allready given.
