My Satellite Setup
Motorised ASC 1.2m,1224 Supermount with C120 Invacom Quad LNB with Matched Feedhorn.
My Location
Scunthorpe
Just upgrading my system and have ordered andrews 1.2 dish, i understand that polar mt's are hard to come by now so am thinking of jaeger h-h motor.

Anyone using one?
can you confirm noise levels?

Just seen vid on utube and it sounds like a plane landing lol.
 
The mount is not noisy however their is a couple of points to observe

1. Do not use on a dish bigger than 1.2 it will break on a 1.8!
2. The reed sensor can give some positioning errors due to wear on the gears after a short period of time 1-2 years

How much louder than a disecq motor is it?
 
Mine's outdoors 60 ft from the house and I can hear it move even with the windows closed. The tone is much less offensive than a diseqc though.
 
well i don't think mine is noisy at all, i think the noise comes from having a metal dish on it maybe ?
 
i only ask as for yrs never had a problem with my neighbour but of late had a few choice words, and don't wanna set up for him to complain over noise/dish size,can locate dish out of site ish but it is close to him

Probably. By the way I'm not saying it's noisy, it's just that I can hear it. The noise from the diseqc is much more offensive to me. Where I live is completely silent though.
 
Put sand in the post and spray some expanded foam onto the back of the metal reflector to dampen down the noise.

If the dish is intalled on the ground there is no reason why the 1224 cannot work with a 1.8m dish (but not a CM fibreglass one)

Cant i mount it on wheels and claim its not a fixed object?

Dont think he'll complain re size joking aside, but noise maybe-too late now anyways dish is in garage waiting for lnb, 1224 and some 3inch pole and u bolts.

Who cares ?

Anyway, Robbo (and his new 'stunning' avatar) should be along in a minute to confirm the 1224 is actually very quiet compared to other motor drives, and he has his bolted onto a Precision 1.8m.
 
I have a Gibertini 1.5 mounted on a 1224. Its not any more noiser than a standard jack actuator.

The 1224 will handle a light 1.8m dish no problem, as long as it not too heavy.

yes had noticed it sounds different to a diseqc, plus with it being 36v it will only be short bit of noise due to how quick it moves.
