Africa is calling! With less than five week to go until world football's biggest competition begin in Johannesburg, it's time to join Satellites.co.uk's very own WC fantasy league.​

By the way, it's free to play (as always) and all forum members are invited*, even if you'ver never played any of the forum's fantasy league before.​


Here is how to join:
  1. Go to the official FIFA Fantasy World Cup site - McDonald's FIFA World Cup Fantasy - sign-up** and set-up your team (team selection will become available from June 4, but you can register now). BEFORE YOU NAME YOUR TEAM, LOOK BELOW.​
  2. Once you're up and running, click on 'My Leagues' on the red bar.​
  3. Click on 'Create/Join​
  4. Under 'Join a Private League', in the 'League code' input box, enter the following code:​

IMPORTANT – Please identify yourself on this thread so that I know that you're a forum member, and not just a passerby!

The deadline to join is June 11 at 2:45pm (British Summer Time/BST)​

TEAM NAMES: Just to mix things up a little, I have decided that everybody's team name must be the names of either their home nation or one of the 32 teams competing in the World Cup. Therefore, before you name your team, check that the name of the team you want isn't already taken. To check, click on this link (it is the url of the league table) - http://en.mcdonalds.fantasy.fifa.com/M/table.mc?id=7751.​

If you accidently use a team name that is already taken, don't worry, you are able to change your team name by going to the 'Home' page then clicking on 'Edit team profile' on the right.​

Below is also a list of the team names available, if a forum member's name is next to it then you must use another name. If your home nation is not in the World Cup, i.e. Scotland, and not yet taken by someone else, use that team name and you'll be added to the list. I will try my upmost to keep this list updated as much as possible:​

Good effort Salty, I'm really enjoying doing the F1 this season. Just signed up for this too as Cameroon, bring it on !
 
OK done that, I'm in as Switzerland, not a very intuitive site interface though.
 
Right I'm in too, as France (well I should show some loyalty to my country of residence) and the team name is Pete's Plonkers.

Ok, didn't read all the original post:mad: so can you tell me how to change the team name??

LOL, not to worry, got it!!! Now team name is France
 
Well I did but did not realise that you could still identify yourself with your forum name, now I cannot seem to change Portugal-OK to Topper, grr
Whoever wrote the website eats a staple diet of spaghetti!!!!

It's probably ok, I'm 'YorkshirePud' for example. To make sure your name is on the account, go here - FIFA.com - The Club - make sure you're logged on first though.

You will need to change the team name to one of the free country names in post 1 !

My world cup managers name is Blatherskite and not Malcolm as in this forum hope thats okay.
Is it possible to change my Satellites.co.uk name to Blatherskite?
 
I'm in as pazinho63, and Since Topper took my country, i'm taking the Netherlands.
