For anyone interested, Jon Lord, 71, formerly of Deep Purple and Whitesnake, died today from pancreatic cancer.
I for one am very saddened by this, Deep Purple were the first band I got interested in as a teenager, and were a class act.
may god rest your soul, Jon.
 
I believe he co-wrote "Smoke On The Water"

Oh, that's a crying shame. Another great loss. Deep Purple may (I don't remember too much about the seventies!) have been the first band I ever saw in 1971.

Then you saw them at their very best.
 
Never saw them live, but they were one of my favourite bands of the 70s, Fireball probably my favourite album, RIP Jon.
 
Saw them three times when they re-formed MkII line up, the line up, in the eighties, awesome.
What a legacy.
 
A great loss, he was involved in some of the best music of the seventies RIP Jon
